We did not have the traditional NXT TakeOver on Royal Rumble weekend, rather we had the combined NXT and NXT UK show in Worlds Collide. Tonight we have a TakeOver by itself without a WWE pay-per-view in Portland, Oregon. This will be the first TakeOver in 2020 and the card, as usual, looks great on paper.

Six matches will take place on the card unlike the usual five with four titles on the line. Let’s take a look at the card.

Finn Bálor vs. Johnny Gargano

Prediction: Finn Bálor wins

Bálor has been on a tear since turning heel in NXT and as I stated in past TakeOver reviews, he has had a nice revival on the yellow brand. These two have been in a rivalry since Bálor attacked Gargano a few months back and they’ll finally collide in a WWE ring for the first time ever. I have Bálor winning here since he has a lot of momentum as the heel and Gargano can afford a loss from time to time.

Dakota Kai vs. Tegan Nox in a Street Fight

Prediction: Dakota Kai wins

Kai’s shockingly turned on her former teammate during NXT TakeOver: WarGames. Nox got a win when they faced off in singles action on the January 29th episode of NXT, but we will get another match between the two with a Street Fight stipulation added. Nox winning on Jan. 29 has me believing that Kai will get the victory here.

North American Championship – Keith Lee (c) vs. Dominik Dijakovic

Prediction: Keith Lee retains the North American Championship

Lee and Dijakovic had a great series of matches in late 2019 and turned into friends once their rivalry concluded. Both of these guys put on great matches as two big men that have great athleticism that you would not expect. This is one of my favorite matches heading into the night. Lee just won the title, so I think he wins here. It’ll still be a good match nonetheless.

Tag Team Championship – The Undisputed Era (Bobby Fish and Kyle O’Reilly) (c) vs. The BroserWeights (Matt Riddle and Pete Dunne)

Prediction: The BroserWeights win the Tag Team Championship

Dunne and Riddle teaming up have been one of the best things in 2020 that we did not expect. They won the 2020 Dusty Rhodes Tag Team Classic to earn a title opportunity. They have great chemistry together in their early run as a tag team. To change things up on the tag division, I have Dunne and Riddle winning here.

Women’s Championship – Rhea Ripley (c) vs. Bianca Belair

Prediction: Rhea Ripley retains the Women’s Championship

This is one of the more predictable matches heading into the night due to 2020 Women’s Royal Rumble Winner Charlotte Flair teasing that she will challenge Ripley for the title at WrestleMania 36. It should be a good match but I think Ripley retains here.

NXT Championship – Adam Cole (c) vs. Tommaso Ciampa

Prediction: Tommaso Ciampa wins the NXT Championship

Ciampa never lost the title, as he had to relinquish the title a year ago due to injury. For months, Ciampa has done whatever he can to get back “Goldie” and he has the chance to do so tonight. Cole has had a great run with the title but I think it is time to change things and make Ciampa the champion again. This is going to be a good one.

Much like every single TakeOver, Portland has the chance to follow the streak of excellent NXT shows. All the title matches are going to be good ones while the two non-title matches will also be good. Expect another great show here.
